Over smartness spoils reputation

A shepherd boy was feeding his goat flock in a big field near a highway. Suddenly a luxurious car stopped on the edge and a young man came out of the car. The car was a BMW, he was wearing Brioni suits, Ray sunglass, and YSL tie.
He approached the boy and told him, “If I can tell you how many goats and baby goats you have in this field, will you give me one baby goat?”

The shepherd boy thought for a while and agreed to his proposal.
Upon the agreement, the young man opened his Dell laptop and connected with Cingular RAZR V3. Then browsed the NASA page and connected with GPS satellite. By this way, he could locate his current location. Then he took the picture of the whole field with NASA satellite. Then opened the photo in Adobe Photoshop and send it to Hamburg, Germany. After few seconds, he got an email. He then opened the data sent from Hamburg on his iPhone after processing with MS-SQL. After a while, he got the result and printed it with HP laser-jet printer. He answered the boy, “You have total 864 adult and baby goats”

The shepherd boy replied, “Yes, you are correct.”
According to the initial condition, the young man took a baby goat.
The shepherd boy then told him, “If I can tell you what your father does, will you return me my baby goat?”

After a brief thinking, the young man agreed to this proposal as well.
The shepherd boy told, “Your father is a minister”
The surprised young man asked, “How do you know that?”

The boy replied, “Very easy. Nobody invited you here. You have come yourself and answered a question I haven’t asked in the first place. You have used instruments which costs probably thousands dollar. Actually, you just wanted to show me how big your daddy is. The most important thing is that you have no idea about the life of a poor shepherd boy and his animals. These are sheep flock, not goat flocks. Now return me my dog. I use it to look after my sheep”.

What do we learn from here?

Money, technology, and luxurious life won’t make us a smart and knowledgeable person in every aspect of our life. Everyone has better knowledge of his/her respective field. Unnecessary over smartness doesn’t make us clever. Sometimes, it hurts our reputation as well.
